The project’s name, meaning “fort” in Spanish, reflects its grounding presence amidst the rolling hills. Terracotta clay walls, reminiscent of the first Spanish colonial forts, stand strong against the landscape and give the name to the project.
The bold yet minimal architecture embraces the rugged terrain, allowing nature to take center stage, blending its earthy tones with the rich coffee soils.
Shaded courtyards frame panoramic views of the valleys, their tranquility enriched by the gentle flow of water through narrow channels—an homage to traditional colonial water circuits. This delicate interplay of movement and stillness connects guests to the land’s rhythms. Handcrafted wooden doors, textured walls, and stone basins celebrate local craftsmanship, grounding the design in Colombian heritage.
